About

I have been using the web since 1992, a few years after its invention. I got a mac with internet access and it quickly grew into a time-consuming hobby. I spent hours learning to program, downloading files and fixing network connections. I realised my skills could be used to help others and landed a holiday job as an internet help-desk assistant and trainee developer with a local software company. I found that I enjoyed designing and coding but also had a knack for speaking with customers, understanding their problems and solving them. At the time, I hand-coded web pages in HTML myself, creating images from tablet sketches and forms using database and server scripts. Now, after years of experience, I still love creating web products but mainly do this through speaking with business people to understand their needs and goals before translating these for development teams who create and maintain the code.
